Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has granted approval for a monthly wage of N80,000 for casual hospital staff throughout the state.
This directive has been issued in response to concerns expressed by casual employees at the Minna General Hospital regarding their employment status.
During a recent meeting in Minna with concerned casual workers who felt they had been unfairly treated during a conversion exercise conducted by his administration, Bago addressed their grievances.
He stated that casual workers holding degree qualifications who have been with the organization for 10 to 15 years will be granted automatic appointments. In contrast, those with diploma certifications will initially be appointed on a probationary basis, with the understanding that they are expected to enhance their qualifications within a three-year period.
