The Adamawa state Governor, His Excellency, Bindow Umar Jibrilla on Monday sworn in Halilu Isa Ahmed as Commissioner, Arch Aliyu Tarfa as Permanent Secretary with a marching order on them to hit the ground running.
Governor Bindow warns his Commissioners to be wary of the temptation of worldly things explaining that there is no secret in government at the swearing-in ceremony in Banquet Hall, Government House, Yola.
He caution the new commissioner, permanent secretary to see their appointment as a call to service to improve the lot of the people positively, urging them to abide by administration protocol and follow due process.
Secretary to the State Government, Dr Umar Buba Bindir laments that all commissioners are equal. What will distinguish you; will depend on what you make of your office.
The state Head of Service, Dr Amos Edga noted that the new permanent secretary was being sworn in to fill the gaps of the ministry that was separated and to allow government machineries to function properly.
The new commissioner, Halilu Isa Ahmed from Yola south was sent to Ministry of Water Resources, new permanent secretary, Arch Aliyu Tarfa from Gombi was sent to Ministry of Minerals Resources.
In his statement to Sky Daily, Halilu Isa Ahmed said “I will exploit every resources available to tackle water challenges in Adamawa state. We are blessed with rivers and lakes, so achieving this will be possible.”
