Sokoto state Gov’t poises to transform Agricultural sector in the state

Sokoto state Deputy governor Alhaji Idris Mohammed Gobir has disclosed plan to transform agricultiral sector in the state.

Gobir announced this at a meeting with the Director of international Affairs of the Sesame Organisation Mr Nicholas perrin at the international Agricultural show in Paris,France.

Alhaj Idris Gobir said it was in realisation of that,a team from the state under his leadership are participating at the Agricultural show.

The Deputy governor said there were many areas the state government can collaborate with various participating firms and investors at the event.

According to him, these include acquiring of improved seeds including that of Sesame, Cow fattening for milk and meat and sheep rearing.

The Deputy governor said being the biggest Agricultural show in Europe, the event afforded another opportunity to tap for the development of the state.

He acknowledged that every single element of Agricultural world was displayed at the event.

In his comment, the Director of International Affairs of Sesame Mr Nicholas Perrin expressed appreciation with the state government commitment to improve sesame farming.

He pledged to render all the necessary support and cooperation to achieve the desired goal.

Other members of the team which include the Deputy speaker Hon. Kabir ibrahim Kware and the State commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education Alhaji Muhammad Tukur Alkali contributed positively during the discussion.
