The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Customs, Excise, and Tariff, Senator Isah Echocho, has commended President Bola Tinubu for approving the establishment of the North Central Development Commission.
Echocho, who described the initiative as a landmark achievement, said it will foster development and address the region’s unique challenges. He also stated that the North Central region feels vindicated for supporting Tinubu in the 2023 election.
“In a statement released on Saturday through his media aide, Mikail Ibrahim, Echocho hailed the NCDC’s creation as a “momentous occasion” for the North Central region, demonstrating President Tinubu’s responsiveness to the needs of the people.
“Today, we feel vindicated for supporting President Tinubu in the 2023 election. He has listened to our concerns,” he stated, emphasizing the commission’s potential to drive economic growth, infrastructure development, and social welfare.
Echocho continued, “This commission represents a new dawn for our region. It acknowledges the unique challenges we face and demonstrates a commitment to ensuring the North Central region receives the attention and resources it deserves.”
He called on stakeholders, local governments, and community leaders to collaborate with the commission, emphasizing the importance of inclusive development that benefits all segments of society, particularly youth and marginalized communities.
Echocho also commended the Senate, under the able leadership of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, for its role in this landmark achievement.
