Seven persons have died in a road accident that occurred in Tilden Fulani town, along the Bauchi to Jos highway in Bauchi State.
It was gathered that the accident, which involved a green Opel Vectra, happened when the driver lost control and plunged into a river following a torrential rainfall.
A resident of Tilden Fulani, Saleh Musa, told newsmen that the crash was caused by a heavy downpour at the weekend.
The Bauchi State Police Command confirmed the accident.
The command’s spokesperson, Ahmed Wakil, said the search operation was still ongoing to recover the remaining five passengers who were on board the car. The spokesperson said the corpses have been handed over to their relatives for burial.
