
The federal republic of Nigeria and the Arab republic of Egypt have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the aviation sector.
This MOU, signed following a review of the bilateral air service agreement (BASA) between the two countries, aims to expand bilateral ties through aviation, unlock new opportunities in technical cooperation, route expansion, and joint investment in civil aviation infrastructure, and enhance regional integration, service delivery, and connectivity in Africa.
Minister of aviation and aerospace development Festus kKyamo describes the signing of the MOU as a historic milestone, signaling a new chapter of collaboration and shared prosperity between Nigeria and Egypt.
Egyptian minister of foreign affairs dr. Badr Abdelatty expressed gratitude for the warm reception and conveyed greetings from president Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, reiterating Egypt’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Nigeria.
This partnership is expected to further enhance the strong commercial ties and mutual benefits between both nations.
