National award of merit confers on NITDA timely, says YCSCD

Youth and Civil Society Coalition for Development (YCSCD) has described the national Award of Merit conffered on National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) by President Muhammadu Buhari as timely and moral booster.

This was contained in a press release singed and made available to newsmen by the National President, Youth and Civil Society Coalition for Development (YCSCD), Comrade Aminu Aminu, on Friday in Abuja.

Comrade Aminu Aminu says, NITDA has proven its worth over the last seven years, considering the massive digital transformation in Nigeria in the areas of business, education, governance and expanding the Nigerian digital literacy level which is yielding fruitful results for the country.

The National President noted, the fact that, NITDA is the only Federal Government’s Agency that survived the vigorous selection process of the National Award Committee to win the National Productivity Merit Award, is a testimony to the commendable achievements of the Agency, facilitating the development of Nigeria into a sustainable digital economy.

NITDA is indeed a blessing for Nigeria as thousands of youth from across Nigeria have benefited from digital business oriented trainings and supported with computers and other digital devices as well as seed capital for self reliance.

NITDA under the present Director General, Malam Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, has provided Information Technology Centers across secondary and tertiary learning institutions in the country preparing the younger generation for the global digital competitiveness.

The YCSCD National President says, the role NITDA has played during the two years of COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria is still fresh in the memory of Nigerians.

Comrade Aminu Aminu noted that the National Productivity Merit Award to the driver of the nation’s digital economy is therefore well deserved.

The YCSCD President, Comrade Aminu Aminu therefore congratulated the Director General National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) Malam Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi and the entire staff of NITDA on the reception of the prestigious national Merit Award.
