Jigawa Govt. to employ teachers under J-teach program

Jigawa state government is to employ additional 2 thousand teachers under J-teach program in the state.

The state chairman of the Nigeria Union of teachers (NUT), Comrade Abdulkadir Yunusa Jigawa disclosed this in a Radio Jigawa program.

He said the measure was aimed at replacing the teachers that retired from service and improve teaching and learning process.

Abdulkadir Yunusa said the state governor, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, has assured to covert 400 to 800 J-Teach teachers to permanent staff.

According to him 900 teachers retired from the service this year.

The NUT Chairman said the state government has done a lot in the education sector in the area of rehabilitation, construction of classes and laboratories as well as purchasing of teaching and learning materials.

He said the union will plant one thousand trees in schools across the state.
