The National Security Council today disclosed plans to ban motorcycles and mining in a bid to cut off logistics and sources of funds to the terrorists across the country.

The meeting, presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari, was attended by ministers and other government officials, took place at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Briefing correspondents at the end of the meeting, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, said the terrorists latch on mining and motorcycles to perpetrate their terror.

According to Abubakar Malami, the terrorists use motorcycles for movement and mining provides them with the money to fund their arms supply.

Abubakar Malami noted that terrorists have moved from the conventional ways of funding their activities to mining and ransom taking, making it necessary for the government to act.
