FG disburse UBEC funds to 1,147 schools

The federal government has commenced the disbursement of funds to 1 thousand 147 schools through the Universal Basic Education Commission to improve the quality of basic education in the country.  

The Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu stated this yesterday in Gombe during the national flag-off of disbursement of Universal Basic Education Commission support fund. 

Represented by the Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, he said the programme was community-based and stakeholder-driven, which requires collective approach from all stakeholders for its successful implementation.  

Earlier, Executive Secretary of Universal Basic Education Commission, Dr Hamid Bobboyi said the event was a deliberate community engagement aimed at establishing result-oriented mechanism for quality basic education delivery in Nigeria.
