Nigeria’s tally of confirmed COVID-19 cases rose to 6,677, on Wednesday, as 284 new infections were announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
Also, the death toll from the virus reached 200 as 8 people were confirmed dead from the virus on Wednesday.
The agency in a tweet late on Wednesday evening said the 284 new cases were reported in 13 states.
Lagos State recorded 1,999 followed by Rivers State with 26 while Oyo had 19, Borno and Federal Capital Territory 8 each, Plateau 7, Jigawa 6, Kano 5, Abia 2 while Ekiti, Delta, Kwara, and Taraba have 1 each.
There was a slight increase in the number of infections reported on Wednesday compared to the number reported on Tuesday.
