Abba Gida-Gida Bags Award for Commitment to Women, Youth Development in Kano

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has been named the Best Governor of the Year by African Trust Magazine, a prestigious recognition that highlights his administration’s remarkable strides in empowering women and youth in the state.

 

In a statement issued by the Governor’s Spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the award was presented on Wednesday by the publisher of the magazine, Prince Isaac Adekunle, who praised Governor Yusuf for his commitment to grassroots empowerment.

 

Adekunle highlighted the Governor’s focus on ensuring that the benefits of democracy are felt across all levels of society, particularly by Kano’s most vulnerable populations.

 

“Under the leadership of His Excellency, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, Kano State has witnessed a transformational approach to governance, with women and youth at the forefront of development initiatives,” he said.

 

“His administration’s unwavering focus on these key groups has made a significant impact, offering real value to the people at the grassroots level.”

 

In response to receiving the award, Governor Yusuf reaffirmed his dedication to fulfilling his promises to the people of Kano, stressing the importance of governance that directly benefits the masses.
