The embattled Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero has jet out for Abuja to ttend a high-level meeting.

Bayero traveled for the first time since returning to Kano State in May when he was announced dethroned by the State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf.

The emir left Kano to attend a meeting involving traditional leaders, Daily Trust reports.

According to a source, Bayero’s trip comes amid ongoing tension in Kano State, following his removal by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf. Bayero continues to assert his claim to the Kano throne, operating from the Nassarawa mini palace outside the Kano city.

The trip marks Bayero’s second public appearance since his return to Kano, the first being on July 20 at the annual peace prayer organized by the Isyaku Rabiu family.

During his visit to Abuja, Bayero was seen at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport with the Oni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, among others.

Meanwhile, Kano State remains without an emir, as the 16th Emir, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has traveled to the United Kingdom where he defended his Ph.D thesis.
