Jigawa Govt. spends over N22 billion on water projects

At least than 22 billion have been so far spent on executing various water projects across 27 local government areas in Jigawa State.

The State Commissioner of Water Resources, Ibrahim Garba Hannun Giwa, dropped the hint yesterday while responding to journalists during a media engagement forum that was organized by Jigawa State Correspondent Chapel held at Manpower Development Institute, Dutse.

Hannun Giwa stated that 22 billion naira has been spent on water projects since the resumption of present administration of Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar.

According to him, six years back when the present administration came into power only 40 percent of water schemes in the state were working.

He disclosed that the state government is losing over 100 million naira annually as a result of the vandalization of water facilities across the State.
