Kano state governorship candidate under the platform of People Democratic Party, PDP, in 2019 general elections, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf has mobilized for prayers and steadfastness from Kano people to unseat APC’s Ganduje in court.
Abba made the call via his official Twitter handle while congratulating Zamfara people for PDP’s victory at the Supreme Court.
“While congratulating the people of Zamfara, my friend Alhaji Bello Matawalle, and all @officialPDPNig members, I am calling on Kanawa to remain steadfast, faithful and prayerful. It’s just a matter of time.” He wrote.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) had no candidates in the 2019 general elections in Zamfara state according to a new landmark judgment of the Supreme Court delivered earlier on Friday.
Justice Paul Adamu Galinji led five-member panel of justices to an unanimous judgment that APC in the state failed to conduct primaries in accordance with the party rules.
The new judgment means all votes cast for the APC are “wasted votes” and that all political parties with the second highest number votes in the elections at all levels are returned elected.
Kano PDP too are presently in court challenging the election of Governor Abdulahi Umar Ganduje on account of elections irregularities, and hoping to the judgment will be in their favour.
