Zamfara inaugurates committee on banditry

Zamfara state government on Monday, has inaugurated a high powered committee on the menace of kidnapping and banditry in the state.

The committee headed by the former Inspector General of Police, IGP MD Abubakar, will be expected to work towards finding lasting solutions to banditry among other vices in the state.

“Part of the committee’s terms of reference would be to investigate the cause of violent uprising against the Emir of Maru Alhaji Abubakar Chika Ibrahim and the district head of Kanoma Alhaji Ahmad Lawal.” The government said.

The MD Abubakar led committee is also mandated to conduct, within two month, a through examination of the remote and immediate cause of banditry and other crimes across the state.
