The Zamfara state Commissioner of Finance, Alhaji Mukhtar Shehu Idris (Kogunan Gusau) has emerged as consensus candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC in the forthcoming 2019 nationwide elections in Zamfara State.
Reliable sources told Sky Daily that Governor Abdulaziz Yari made the disclosure during a stakeholders meeting held at the government House, Gusau with executives of the party across the 14 local government area of the state.
The governor explained that after due consultations with all the relevant stakeholders, it was agreed that the central zone that has never produce governor of the state will produce a candidate for the party.
According to the governor, after careful consideration, Alhaji Muktar Shehu Idris was unanimously resolved from the central zone to be the party flag bearer during the upcoming 2019 general elections.
Chairman of the APC in Zamfara state, Hon Lawal M Liman Kaura said the party will on Monday commences solidarity visit to the consensus candidate of the party with a view to expressing their total support.
