The Ministry of Finance on Wednesday suspend Accountant General of the Federation(AGF), Ahmed Idris.
The suspension came a day after the AGF has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on alleged fund diversion and laundering.
In a letter signed by Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed the minister of finance, say the AGF is suspended without pay.
Shamsuna explained the suspension “is to allow for proper and unhindered investigation into the serious allegation in line with public service ruke 030406,”
The AGF according to the letter, is barred from showing up in office “except for any disciplinary hearing that may be advised”
