About 100 houses were destroyed by windstorm in Gwiwa local government area of Jigawa state.
The head of social and community development department of the local government, Yusif Abdullahi made this known while conducting round the council chairman on assessment tour of the affected areas.
He described the incidence as act of God and sympathized with the victims.
The council chairman, Sale Ahmad Zauma, pledged the council determination to assist the victims and promised to report the matter to the state emergency management agency for possible assistance.
In his remark, member representing Gwiwa constituency in the state house of assembly, Alhaji Aminu Zakari, assured of the state government readiness to assist the victims.
Similarly, one person died while seven others injured as a result of windstorm in Tsangayar Mallam Musa Aujara in Jahun local government area of Jigawa state.
