
Borno State Command of the War against Indiscipline says it has trained 2,700 volunteers, to mobilise participation in community development activities at the grassroots in the state.
News Agency of Nigeri reports that the training exercise was organised in collaboration between the War Against Indiscipline and National Orientation Agency as well as Borno State Ministries of Transport, Youth and Empowerment.
Alhaji Yahaya Imam, the agency’s Director in the state, disclosed this at the graduation ceremony to mark the end of the one-week training in Maiduguri.
He said that the volunteers were exposed to security and managerial skills to enhance engagement in community services.
Imam described the training as the first of its kind conducted in the past 10 years in the state, adding that the volunteers were also exposed to martial arts, security tips, surveillance, traffic management and crime prevention, among others.
Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar, the Deputy National Commander of War against Indiscipline, said the volunteers were being engaged, adding they had contributed positively to various fields of endeavors in the state since War against Indiscipline creation in 1984.
