VP Osinbajo presides over FEC meeting

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo presided over the Federal Executive Council in the absence of President Muhammadu Buhari who travelled to London, the United Kingdom, for a routine medical check-up.

The council meeting was attended physically by the Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, and the National Security Adviser, retired Major-General Babagana Monguno and seven ministers.

The Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan, as well as other members of Council joined the meeting virtually.

Before the start of the session, a minute silence was observed in honour of two former ministers; one-time Minister of Science and Technology, Senator Bode Olowoporoku and Alhaji Umaru Muhammad Baba.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, who formally announced their death, spoke on various services they rendered to the country.
