As new year is coming nigh, in this valediction piece, the past year has been a both a blessing and the a curse, it comes with different good opportunities and fortunes to some of us, some of whom become, in this trying time, what they had never dreamed of, this is indeed a blessing. It’s bad jinx and a curse to some of us, that is, a black year if I will to name it, in this year some lost their jobs, their businesses were almost bankrupted and to worse than that some lost their lives or loved ones to coronavirus, may Allah have mercy on their departed souls!

We have came across different challenges with the advent of this global pendamic coronavirus which if you have survived, you might not have escaped lockdown for the impact of coronavirus. Alas! Second wave of coronavirus has returned, even more dangerous than the first wave, lest you should doubt, they have presented circumstantial evidence to prove that.

Many have recorded, however, great achievement in that trying time. I am so impressed with the excellent works of some fo my people, both online and offline, for utilized their premium time during calamity. I am deeply envious of their works, and I really inspired by them.

I have come across many people on this platform, it seems as though it was a competition, mention the numerous books they had read during lockdown. I came across a great bookworm who has read no less than one hundred books and fifty book alone, another one has read about fourty books and most of them whom I have come across read twenty books, these are the most least. And to my surprise most of them are Kano people. I am very jealous and envious of your passion to read books. How many books have you and I read during lockdown?

But come to my people, who I am always dolorous to what I am overhearing from them, they perhaps made the numbers , contrary to those people, of Labarina , Izzar Do, Kwana Casa’in and Gidan Badamasi episodes as yardsticks to measure their talents. Thus, they are damning always gallivanting from this episodes to another. Mind you, I am not saying that you must not watch movies but while doing so, try to do a tangible great work that you will feel proud whenever you see it. Watch more movies but not inane and meaningless movies. I may have watched more movies than than you, but impressive, informative, educative and supportive movies.

To put it clear, I am not saying those who have not posted the numbers of books they read have not read anything, I knew different bookworm, here in katsina, who stealthily read more than half of those posted the books combined to inspire and revived the culture of book reading for lazy people like me. Have I post the books I have read?

Notwithstanding, I am not condemning those who are addicted to watching movies but rather abet them to concentrate and utilize the time the way it should not the way it’s, time and tide waits for none.

To wrap up, as we are, few hours left to enter new year, going to 2021 year. I, therefore, pray for all of us a good and year free of global pendamic, more beautiful than 2020, and may our remaining years ahead be full of good luck, gaity and glad tidings, bring forth opportunities and good fortunes.
