At the 29th Conference of the Parties (COP29), Senior Special Assistant on Climate Change to the Governor of Katsina State, Suleiman Ribadu, passionately advocated for Katsina’s climate resilience. Ribadu emphasized the state’s vulnerability to desertification, drought, and extreme weather events.
‘Climate change affects Katsina’s agriculture, water resources, and livelihoods,’ Ribadu stressed. ‘We need urgent international support for adaptation and mitigation measures.’
Ribadu’s engagement with global leaders and climate experts at COP29 aimed to secure commitments for:
