Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye has been declared a wanted fugitive by the Kogi state Police Command.
Policemen were sent to Senator Melaye’s resident for his arrest but didnt get to meet with him.
Melaye, who was asked by the Abuja Police Command, to report for questioning over an organized protest by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on 5th October, 2018.
In a statement issued by Abuja Police Command that read “consequently, Senator Bukola Saraki, Senator Dino Melaye and Senator Ben Bruce who were captured on camera to have been involved in a disturbance of public peace and public safety… and violent attack on policemen posted to ensure security of the force headquarters, pushing and hitting the policemen to forcefully enter the police headquarters to cause damage to police equipment… are hereby invited to report themselves to the IGP Monitoring Unit at the force headquarters on Monday, 8th October, 2018 for investigation.”
Sky Daily has learnt that the rationale behind Kogi Police Command declaring Senator Melaye, a wanted fugitive is linked to his alleged connection to thugs attacked on July, 19th when a police sergent was on patrol.
The policeman, Sgt. Danjuma Salihu was shot and injured, currently a treatment at Veda Crest Hospital, Abuja.
The Kogi Police Command statement noted that Senator Melaye is “wanted for criminal conspiracy, attempted culpable homicide, and unlawful possession of firearms.”
Senator Melaye is expected to report to Police headquarters Lokoja, to faced the allegations levelled against him.
