As moves to sack Adamawa executives of the All Progressives Congress, APC, thickens, eight House of Assembly members from the state have threatened defection should the national secretariat of the party sacks the Ibrahim Bilal led party exco in the state.
Recall that former Secretary to the Federation, Babachir Lawal, Nuhu Ribadu, Mahmood Halilu Ahmad, Bello Tukur and other party stalwarts in the state had earlier petitioned the party national chairman, Adams Oshiomole to sack the state executive over alleged injustice going on under Mr Bilal’s nose.
They argued that out of the three gubernatorial aspirants that have purchased and submitted their forms, none of them was screened out by the party, “and yet the State Excos have made up their mind that they can only consider one aspirant.
“This is contrary to the principles of natural justice and fairness as enshrined in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“There is no way this set of state Exco and the Local Government counterparts will accord other aspirants a level playing field in the coming primaries elections in Adamawa State.”
However, in a swift reaction, the lawmakers, who are the party’s caucus in the National Assembly, said any move to sack Ibrahim Bilal led executive would meet its wrath, vowing to leave the party if such decision is taken.

Spokesman of the caucus and member representing Michika/ Madagali constituency, Adamu Kamale, who disclosed this to newsmen on Friday, said they were in full support of Mr Bilal and Governor Jibrila Bindow.

“We heard of the sinister moves by few elements in the party, who are hell-bent in ousting the state executives led by Ibrahim Bilal.
‘’We will not condone it and any attempt to dissolve them will cause our wrath, we will dump the party if they are dissolved.
‘’We, eight members of the House of Representatives have sat and unanimously endorsed the state EXCO led by Mr Bilal and our amiable governor Bindow.
‘’We are saying this unequivocally that we are all for Bindow and Bilal, no shaking,” Mr Kamale said.
