Resident doctors accross the nation are to proceed on Monday to an indifinite strike this newspaper has learned.
The doctors were directed by the National Association of Resident Doctors NARD, begining from Monday, 2nd August.
Dr. Okhuaihesuyi Uyilawa, president of the association made the announcement on Saturday, in Umuahia, Abia state capital. While briefing newsmen he said the resolutions were reached at its just-concluded 2021 National Executive Council, NEC meeting.
The strike come after 113 days ultimatum the doctors gave to the government has expired Mr. Uyilawa has said.
The doctors would be on the strike based on failed promises to improve on their welfare, training and service delivery by state and federal government.
