The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) candidate Mr Abdullahi Shehu polled 69,088 votes to beat the candidates of other political parties in last Saturday’s election for Bauchi federal constituency in Bauchi State.
Prof Yakubu Ibrahim of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, the returning officer, announced the result on Monday.
Mr Ibrahim added that Mr Mohammed Sabo of the All Progressive Congress (APC) polled 53,470 votes, Mr Aliyu Garu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) scored 43,727 votes and Mr Sani Subairu of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) garnered 43,727 votes.
