The Chief Imam of the National Mosque Abuja, Professor Ahmad Ibrahim Makari, has withdrew the case he instituted against Kano cleric Dr. Abdallah Gadon Kaya.

Makai has on Monday filed a case before Upper Shari’a Court Rijiyar Lemo on an 8 count charge bordering on defamation of character.

However, in a video clip circulated, Prof. Makari has disclosed withdrawing the case citing calls from respected political and religious figure across the country including his father and the Director of DSS.

“We have indeed sued the personality and the court has since served him with notification, but some highly respected individuals, including my father and the DSS Director, have called and asked me to withdraw the case.

“It was not our intention to disgrace anyone, most especially someone who is identified as an Islamic cleric. We went to court not to disgrace anyone; our intention was to portray what the truth is.”
