
President Bola Tinubu has extended the tenure of Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi by one year.
A statement by Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga says the Comptroller General’s tenure which ends August 31st, 2025 will now end August 31st, 2026.
The statement states further that the extension will enable the Comptroller General to consolidate ongoing reforms and complete critical initiatives of the Tinubu Administration which include mordernisation of the service,implementation of National Single Window project and execution of Nigeria’s obligation under the Africa Continental Free Trade Agreement Protocol.
Onaniga saysThe President is confident the extension will further strengthen the Nigeria Customs Service in achieving its strategic mandate of trade facilitation and revenue generation.
