President Buhari extends mandate of PTF on Covid-19

President Muhammadu Buhari has met with members of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.

The meeting, which was held at the Aso Villa in Abuja, comes at a time when Nigeria is battling the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic.

The president, at the meeting extended the mandate of the Task Force till March 2021.

The extension was based on the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Chairman of Presidential Task Force and Secretary to Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, had yesterday announced fresh guidelines to curb the spread of the virus for the next five weeks.

He had announced the closure of all bars, night clubs, pubs and event centres, and recreational venues.

Also ordered to be closed included all restaurants, while schools would remain closed till at least till January 18, 2021.
