A police officer, Shafi’u Bawa, has tragically taken his own life by hanging in Niger State, Nigeria. Bawa, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, was attached to the 61 Police Mobile Force in Kontagora, the headquarters of Kontagora Local Government Area.
According to reports, Bawa’s lifeless body was discovered hanging from the ceiling of his room on Saturday afternoon. His father, Mallam Usman Bawa, was the one who raised the alarm and reported the incident to the Kontagora police division.
The Niger State Police Command has confirmed the incident, with spokesperson SP Wasiu Abiodakun stating that the incident is under investigation to determine the cause of Bawa’s actions.
