Police arrests suspects over armed robbery and kidnaping in Jigawa

Jigawa State Police Command said it has arrested a 27-old-man over alleged armed robbery and kidnapping.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, ASP Lawan Shiisu, confirmed this to the News Agency of Nigeria, yesterday in Dutse.

Shiisu Lawan said the suspect was arrested by a team of policemen attached to Ringim Division, in Ringim Local Government Area of the state.

He explained that the suspect is believed to be a member of a syndicate that had robbed and kidnapped one Alhaji Ibrahim Jinjiri, aged 60, of Zangon Kanya village in Ringim Local Government Area in September last year.

The Police Public Relations Officer recalled that the syndicate allegedly kidnapped the victim after robbing him of 300 thousand naira.

According to Shiisu Lawan, the suspect would be charged to court upon completion of investigation.

In a related development, the Police in Jigawa State have arrested a 40-year-old man for allegedly stealing an ambulance belonging to Ungogo Local Government Council of Kano State.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, ASP Lawan Shiisu Adam, confirmed the arrest in a statement yesterday in Dutse.

Shiisu Adam said the suspect was arrested at Takwasa village of Babura Local Government Area of the state.

He explained that the suspect was arrested after the police received a report that an ambulance was stolen at Kanya Hore village in Dawakin Tofa local government area of Kano state. The Police Public Relations Officer said the case is still under investigation after which the suspect would be charged to court.
