Police Arrest 4 Suspected Bandits, Recover Arms In Kano

The Kano State Police Command has arrested four suspected bandits and recovered arms and ammunition in the state.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, disclosed this in a statement issued to newsmen in Kano.

Kiyawa said the suspects were arrested on March 7, 2025, at about 10:00 pm, following a tip-off.

He said the police recovered one AK-47 rifle, one magazine, and 17 rounds of live ammunition from the suspects.

The PPRO added that the suspects confessed to being members of a notorious bandit group operating in the state.

Kiyawa said, “On March 7, 2025, at about 10:00 pm, following a tip-off, our men arrested four suspected bandits at Gandu Sarki Quarters, Kano Municipal Local Government Area.”

He gave the names of the suspects as:

  1. Aliyu Mohammed, 25 years old
  2. Abubakar Lawan, 22 years old
  3. Kabiru Abdullahi, 20 years old
  4. Suleiman Adamu, 25 years old

Kiyawa said the suspects would be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.

He appealed to the public to continue to cooperate with the police by providing timely and accurate information to help in the fight against crime and criminality.
