The Nigeria Police Force, Imo State Command confirmed it has nabbed 57 years old Bonifice Okeke who, according to the Police, confessed contributing the financing of the proscribed organization and its security outfit the Eastern Security Network.
“On interrogation, he confessed of being a facilitator and financer of IPOB/ ESN Operation in the state to the tune of N10 million while he was outside the country.
“He assisted the police in the arrest of some of their members and decimation of their camps in the state.” Imo Police PRO said.
The Imo State Police spokesman CSP Mike Abattam further said that the suspect was arrested at Obor community in Orlu council area. The suspect allegedly is connected with terrorism and attacks on security agencies and civilians in the state.
IPOB recently have lunched attacks on various government properties and Police divisions in the South east. The supreme leader of IPOB Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is standing trial with Federa government after he was intercepted and brought back to Nigeria.
