Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo admitted that millions of Nigerians were extremely poor.

He said elected leaders would be irresponsible if they did not collaborate and sort out what he called the nation’s life-threatening problems.

Osinbajo said these at the closing of the two-day executive-legislative leadership retreat held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

He said members of the executive and legislative arms of government had to collaborate if they were not to fail Nigerians, who gave them the opportunity to serve at high leadership levels.

In a communiqué issued at the end of the retreat, participants, among other things, called for the creation of an effective conflict management and resolution mechanism in resolving areas of disagreement between the executive and legislature in the overall national interest.
