NPF Operatives Arrest Suspected Kidnappers, Rescue Seven Victims, Recover Arms Nationwide

The Nigeria Police Force has continued to make significant strides in its fight against kidnapping, banditry, and illegal arms proliferation across the country. Through its coordinated tactical operations and actionable intelligence, Police operatives have arrested suspects, recovered weapons, and dismantled criminal networks threatening public safety.

A statement by the force indicates that In Niger State, kidnappers who attacked Tungan-Boka and Masaha villages in Mashegu LGA and abducted seven victims were swiftly tracked to a nearby forest by operatives of the State Police Command and local security teams. Following a gun duel, the suspects were overpowered and all hostages rescued unhurt.

Similarly, in Plateau and Taraba States, raids on criminal hideouts led to the recovery of weapons and ammunition, including 500 rounds of 7.65mm ammunition, AK-47 rifles, pump-action shotguns, and magazines. Two suspects, were arrested and are currently in custody pending prosecution.
Meanwhile, the Inspector-General of Police has commended the officers’ professionalism and urged continued public cooperation to ensure national security.
