
The Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the African Union concerning the provision of strategic sealift services to the African Union.
Joining him as co-signer is the Commissioner of the African Union Commission. This significant event took place at the Julius Nyerere Hall, African Union Secretariat, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on February 16, 2025.
The event was graced by notable attendees, including the Honourable Minister of Justice, the Attorney-General of the Federation, Chief of Naval Staff of the Nigerian Navy, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, and Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, the Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs, along with various other dignitaries from Nigeria and the African Union Commission.
