Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has announced the State Government’s readiness to partner with the Upper Niger River Basin Development Authority to enhance water and agricultural infrastructure across the state.

During a courtesy visit by the agency’s management, the Governor emphasized the importance of aligning with federal initiatives, including President Tinubu’s agricultural revolution, and pledged support in securing increased funding through federal and state legislators.

He also directed action on resolving land encroachment issues affecting the agency.

The Authority’s Managing Director, Aliyu Tajudeen Abdullah, highlighted ongoing and planned projects such as dam rehabilitation, irrigation schemes, and rural infrastructure, noting that ₦9 billion has been earmarked for Niger State in the 2025 budget.
