New Islamic Calendar: KEDCO greets Muslim Ummah, urges more prayers for Nigeria

The Management of Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) has congratulated Muslims faithful across Kano, Katsina and Jigawa states on the new Islamic calendar following the sighting of the new moon of Muharram 1442 AH.

KEDCO’s message is contained in a statement signed by Ibrahim Sani Shawai, the head of corporate communication, KEDCO.

According to the Management, the new calendar presents an opportunity for Muslim faithful to have a new beginning and discharge their religious duties that will usher in good fortunes across the world.

In this regard “we urge faithful to continue to pray for the good of the country especially in the face of this global challenge of COVID-19 pandemic and the need to prevent further spread of the disease” the statement added

In his message, Dr Jamil Isyaku Gwamna, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of KEDCO said “the new moon has always been a signal of Allah’s Mercies and divine care for mankind and this year’s own is no exception. 

“As we perform our religious duties, may we have better fruits of Allah’s goodness compared to the previous year.

“As we celebrate the day, I advise that we embrace caution and continue to adhere to the COVID-19 protocols and remain safe into the New Year.’’
