NDLEA Operatives Arrested for Killing 19-Year-Old Woman in Kano

Two operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Kano State have been arrested for allegedly shooting and killing a 19-year-old woman, Patient Samuel, in Jaba Quarters, Nasarawa local government area.

The incident occurred on Wednesday at about 10:55 p.m., according to intelligence sources who spoke with Zagazola Makama.

Officers from the Kano State Police Command responded to the scene, evacuating Samuel to Muhammad Abdullahi Wase Teaching Hospital, where she was confirmed dead.

The police arrested two NDLEA officers, Nass Ridwan Usman, 23, and Sna Ismaila Yakubu, 26, both attached to the agency’s Kano State headquarters.

A police source said several items were recovered from the suspects, including their motorcycle, one live round of ammunition, four empty shells of 7.62×51mm ammunition, and two knives.

Confirming the arrest, a security official said, “The two NDLEA personnel involved in the incident have been taken into custody, and a thorough investigation is underway to determine the circumstances that led to the fatal shooting.”

Another source within the police command added, “This is a tragic and unfortunate incident. The law must take its course to ensure justice for the victim and her family.”

As of press time, the Kano State Police Command has yet to release an official statement on the matter.
