The House of Representatives on Wednesday urged the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) to protect innocent traders in drug markets that have recently been closed, ensuring they are not unjustly impacted.

The House has instructed its Committee on NAFDAC to look into the issues surrounding the sweeping restrictions placed on the markets, emphasizing the importance of protecting the livelihoods of genuine vendors.

The resolution came about after a motion of urgent public significance presented by Victor Afam Ogene (LP, Anambra), who emphasized the need for NAFDAC to proceed with care in its enforcement activities.
