Strange like the resurrection of Lazarus, Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso will wake up without one of the most important figures of the Kwankwasiyya movement. No matter how you describe it, it’s a blow, a big one. Now, that’s politics of interest. A kind of political prostitution that can only happen in Nigeria.
According to Butterfly Effect Theory, Texas tornadoes are potentially caused by the “flap of a butterfly’s wings in Brazil”. Determining the ultimate cause and effects in weather is a tough call, however, given how many random physical factors ultimately come into play. But it’s fascinating to think that a distant and peacefully fluttering butterfly has so much potential power. Easier to determine how one man’s monumental achievements towards building a better society can not only cause a political storm, series of betrayals, but has now unleashed and turned his close associates into political enemies. What a pity! That alone, force and reunite long time enemies, some certain groups of people, that’d rather trade their reputation(well if they have any of it), and let hell break loose just to retire him politically – the imaginary peak of wishful thinking , which is, feasibly unattainable. That, Kwankwaso’s only mistake was to redefine Nigerian political movement, human development, greatness and transformation of hopeless society into a society worthy of boundless promise. That, man’s only mistake was to establish an ideology that revives hope; the hope that one day a common man, the downtrodden will have a fitting sound education, go to good college, places, and have opportunities he/she never dreamed of. Now, that’s more than an average politician.
Undoubtedly, Kwankwaso’s a walking vision of strength wearing a captivating religious symbols of a loving God. A true friend to the downtrodden and a nightmare to those against the interest of the common man. I mean, those that are into politics for namesake. Kwankwaso , in the absence of a better description, is a prophet who enjoys unflinching support and loyalty in his homeland all because he believes in human development. Kwankwaso’s great and unmatched political wisdom(apologies to uncle Trump) made these shameless opportunistic individuals to gang up alongside the people they used to loathe, spit on, and bitterly opposed against him in the eve of election. The question is: were they being able to stop him with all the resources at their disposal, against all the political thugs, right with the mighty central endorsement from apostle of integrity? Certainly not. Not, if God is alive. Hear what your President said recently about losing Kano to Kwankwaso’s opposition. “It would have been a major blow if strategically important states like Kano and Plateau are lost.” – President Buhari
Now, you know, how we had a rough drive from a one day governorship-election-to-inconclusive-election. From technicality and manipulation of justice to supreme dismissed. I’ve lost count. Honestly. You can add yours. For, it was an unfortunate experience that got me lost hope in the Nigerian project.
The ideology with which our movement is built upon is what attracts people, and therefore, pledged to depend the movement wholeheartedly, be it during political season or otherwise. Kwankwaso has invested way enough in youth empowerment. Plus, he’s doing that politically, and now that, the top dogs are departing from his camp, the next thing is to bring more youth on board. It’s not going to be a cakewalk, but surely, it’s a long time investment, campaign. One thing I am pretty certain and I want to assure the followers of this great movement is: Kwankwasiyya will emerge stronger. To tell you two things? Let me start with the bad one. We may likely lose some bigwigs in our camp in the nearest future. The good thing is: the future lies with us. With what we believe in. This cause. This movement. The ideologies with which Kwankwasiyya is built on.
Figuratively, the phrase “Last Man Standing” is commonly used to describe anything or anyone that has outlived, or outlasted other similar things. Kwankwaso has outlived betrayal, fought many political battles and outlasted series of mockery. He lost his followers, associates who used to dine and reflect over so many pressing political issues to opposition. He’s the sole survivor of many political battles, when everybody else has fallen. Now, that’s more than enough!
Our supreme leader is a maverick, a seer, a friend to a common man and a sage. He enjoys unflinching loyalty from us, for we truly believe in this cause, in him. Above all, he’s The Last Man Standing against riding shipwreck of political opposition.
