His Excellency Malam Nasiru Ahmad Elrufa’i, the executive Governor Kaduna State deserves to be commended for being the first to swiftly and decisively meet up with the requirements of minimum wages since returning for his second tenure after the 2019 general elections.

It’s no longer a business of the day at the Federal ministries, Departments units and Agencies on National minimum wage which the president signed into law through the National Assembly after their quick and smooth approval.

Although some state governors then declined to make promise to their state and local Government workers for the implementation of the 30k minimum Wage. Malam NASIR AHMED Elrufa’i is the first to approve and implement the minimum wage among all the 36 states governors in the country through September salary.

However, some of the governors made and pronounced their ability to meet the minimum wages requirements but yet to arrived with the concept brought forth by the Governor of Kaduna state.

The union leaders in Kaduna state such as NUT, TUC and the state Health unions were highly engaged in prayers to the state governor for his commitment to make Kaduna civil servant to stand with their toes financially. As saying goes “the success has many parents while the failure is an orphan” in this case Kaduna state governor remains the only who writes his name with a golden ink as per as minimum wage is concerned because even the federal Government workers are yet redeem the commitment and the promise by President Muhammadu Buhari. Although the NLC, TUC and other national unions were planning to embark on National strike if the Government refuse to agree with their submission.

More so, some of the workers were gone into the street after the receipt of end of the month alert  saying “Thank you Malam NASIR,  thank you our best state Governor, we’re with you day and night, Our prayers is always for you to be our next president Insha Allah.” I will like to sincerely appeal to Federal Government to please address these accomplish and zealous hope of Nigerian workers who played a greater role in the emergence of all political office golfer at both the federal, State and local government levels. They should not embark on the said strike due to the condition and nature of the nation.

I heard some students singing songs on their way to school saying please Mr President Pay our parents, teachers, lawyers and all other public servant 30k minimum wage as promised!

I fervently do hope Mr. President will give a listening ear to the voices of our children and the agitation of the unions. Mr. President should please borrow a yardstick from Kaduna state Governor malam NASIR AHMED Elrufai.
