Katsina State executive council has directed the vice Chancellor of Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, Professor Sanusi Mamman to resign his appointment with immediate effect.
Special Adviser to Governor Aminu Bello Masari on Higher Education, Dr Bashir Ruwan-Godiya disclosed this to journalists during a press briefing at General Muhammadu Buhari House, Katsina.
The meeting which was chaired by Governor Aminu Bello Masari also directed for the immediate resignation of the Pro-Chancellor of the University and former Vice Chancellor of the University Professor Mu’ita Abba Ibrahim.
Dr Ruwan-Godiya highlighted that it was a collective decision of the council after studying the drafting committee on the outcome of the white paper committee on the report of the visitation panel of the university.
According to the special Adviser on higher education, the council relied on the university’s law which was revisited by the state Ministry of Justice.
He added that the committee also discovered some irregularities by the current Vice Chancellor of the university.
Dr Ruwan Godiya also stated that the Pro- chancellor was also indicted during investigation.
Chairman of the white paper drafting committee who also doubled as the Special Adviser to Governor Masari on Human Capital development, Lawal Aliyu Daura said the committee submitted it’s findings on the conduct of affairs of the university from 2017 to 2022.
