
Ibrahim Namadi, the Commissioner of Transportation for Kano State, headed a team on a fact-finding trip to Lagos State to gain insights into the progress made in transportation infrastructure and network development.
Dr. Nura Ibrahim Hassan, the Technical Advisor for Transport Policy and Planning, alongside Najeeb Mahmoud Abdussalam, a Transport Specialist Consultant, and the representative from Admin and General Services at the Ministry of Transportation, conducted a thorough tour of essential facilities including the Ikeja Bus Terminal, the Red Line Ikeja Station, and the Blue Line.
The Managing Director of the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), Engr. Mrs. Abimbola Akinajo, warmly welcomed the delegation and provided them with an overview of the agency’s initiatives and operations.
Namadi conveyed his appreciation for the accomplishments of Lagos State in the transportation sector and his aspiration to mirror those successes in Kano, especially through the introduction of a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system.
He committed to engaging with the Lagos State government and LAMATA’s management in order to reach this objective.
