Kano, Nigeria – April 3, 2025 – Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has directed the immediate resumption of construction on the long-abandoned Janguza-Kabo-Karaye road. This move marks a significant step towards addressing critical infrastructural challenges in the state.

The Janguza-Kabo-Karaye road project was initially launched during the administration of former Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso but was left incomplete and abandoned for eight years under the tenure of Abdullahi Umar Ganduje. The Kano State Executive Council has re-awarded the contract, granting necessary approvals for work to resume immediately.

According to Governor Yusuf’s administration, this decision underscores their commitment to completing vital road networks connecting key economic and cultural hubs in the state. “Governance must prioritize continuity and service delivery over political disputes,” emphasized Governor Yusuf.

Beyond infrastructure, the administration is prioritizing security and community development. Well-equipped police divisions have been established in Falgore and Zarewa to address rising security threats. Additionally, a modern stadium is set to be constructed in Karaye, promoting youth engagement, unity, and talent development within the region.

The Emir of Karaye, Alhaji Muhammad Muhammad Maharaz, expressed his commitment to ensuring peace and development in the Emirate. He appreciated Governor Yusuf’s efforts in developing the state and pledged the support and cooperation of his people to the present administration.

This development signals a new era of accountability, progress, and people-centered leadership in Kano State.
