Kano State Amirul Hajj Arrives Saudi Arabia to Lead Pilgrims in Hajj Exercise

In a remarkable display of dedication and devotion, 3,110 pilgrims from Kano State have embarked on the journey of a lifetime to perform the sacred Hajj ritual in Saudi Arabia.

Led by the Deputy Governor of Kano State Comr. Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo who also serves as the Amirul Hajj is accompanied by top government officials, including the Director General of the State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Lamin Rabiu Danbappa, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Yusuf Jibril Falgore, and other dignitaries.

Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu, the Head of Media Team for Kano State pilgrims and also the spokesperson of the Deputy Governor of Kano State revealed that the pilgrims are being supported by the Kano State government to ensure a seamless and spiritual experience.

According to Garba, the Kano pilgrims who were airlifted to Saudi Arabia via Max Air, with the last batch departing from Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) last Saturday, were seen off by management and board members of the pilgrims board, as well as team leaders of various communities constituted by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

The pilgrims are being provided with comfortable accommodation and meals in Mecca.

The Kano State government has also established a medical team to provide healthcare services to the pilgrims as needed.

According to Shuaibu the pilgrims are in high spirits and are eager to perform the Hajj rituals.

The Kano pilgrims spent four days in Medina, where they visited important sites, including the Prophet’s Mosque and the tomb of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). They have since departed for Mecca, where they will perform the Umrah and await the Arafat exercise, which will take place next week.

This year’s Hajj exercise is particularly significant for Kano State, as it marks a major milestone in the state’s efforts to support its citizens in performing this important religious duty.
