Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, has signed into law, the 2024 supplementary budget of the state to enable the government pay the new national minimum wage.
In a statement signed by the governor, he disclosed that “he sign the 2024 Kano State supplementary budget totalling N99,221,503,569.93 into law, yesterday”
He firther said, the new budget would cover the new national minimum wage for civil servants in the state, the local government election, provision of school uniform to primary school pupils and review of cost of projects, occasioned by the skyrocketing prices of goods and services.
“The supplementary budget is made up of N68.2 billion as personnel and overhead cost, while N30.9 billion is for capital expenditure.
“After signing the supplementary budget, the state’s total budget for the year 2024 stands at N536,559,816,357.84”
