Kano commissioner assumes duty, pledges cordial relationship with media

The newly appointed Commissioner for Information, Kano state Ministry of Information, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Wayya, has officially assumed office.

The assumption of duty ceremony, held at the ministry’s headquarters, was marked by a symbolic handover from the permanent secretary, Alhaji Adamu Bala Muhammad.

In his inaugural address, Comrade Wayya pledged to foster a collaborative relationship with journalists in the state, stating the importance of accurate and effective dissemination of government policies and programs.

He further stated that he will prioritise the welfare of the ministry’s staff to boost their morale and ensure better service delivery.

Wayya added that he will also focus on capacity building for staff to equip them with the necessary skills to perform their duties effectively.

The commissioner reiterated his determination to do everything possible to support the state government by ensuring the proper dissemination of information about its activities.

Wayya also highlighted the significant role of Civil Society Organizations in promoting good governance and assured continued collaboration with them to achieve this goal.

A statement signed by director, Special Duties of the ministry, Sani Abba Yola, said the handover ceremony was witnessed by the management staff, head of agencies under the ministry, friends, relatives and well-wishers.
