Taraba state government has imposed curfew on Jalingo and Ardo-Kola metropolis following communal crisis that claimed dozens of lives and millions worth of properties in Kona and ATC areas on Sunday.
In a statement released on Monday evening by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Mr. Bala Dan Abu, said the curfew will run from 4pm to 6am daily until further notice.
“In view of fresh outbreak of crisis in some communities in Kona and ATC areas near Jalingo today, Monday June 17, 2019, the Taraba State government has decided to impose a curfew on Jalingo and all the affected communities with immediate effect.” The statement read in part.
The governor also directed all security agencies in the state to enforce and ensure strict compliance with the curfew quick return of peace to the affected communities.
